Rehabilitation of broken boreholes in Lira City – Phase 3

Pump mechanics repairing Ojungo borehole

Today 24 July 2023, our senior Pump mechanics embarked on the repair of 4 boreholes in Lira City. We are now in phase 3 of rehabilitating broken boreholes in Lira City in partnership with PAK4Humanity which is an NGO based in United States of America led by Shannon Forester who is the Executive Director. This is a project which we started early this year.

The boreholes that shall be repaired include;

  1. Ojungo borehole
  2. Awiodyek borehole
  3. Akia Primary School
  4. Amarica A in Abedpiny
  5. Railway line
  6. Ogengo - Adekokwok ward
  7. Iwal.

All these boreholes had broken down for many years and the community had been sharing water sources with animals. There was jubilation in all the cells where rehabilitation took place.

Thank you PAK4Humanity for all your endeavors.
