The Minister of Health and Lira City Woman Member of Parliament, Dr Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero, last night graced the Lango Music Awards 2026! The awards, held on Friday 19th December 2025 at Ferroz Lounge brought together hundreds of artists, cultural stakeholders, and members of the public from across Lira City and the greater Lango sub-region to celebrate and promote local music and creative talent.
Organizer Gyes Slence Igwe says the Minister’s presence was an amazing recognition of the contribution of young people in the creative industry and encouraged talent development as a viable source of livelihood. Dr Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero commended artists for using music as a tool for cultural preservation, unity, and positive social messaging, noting that the creative sector plays a critical role in engaging and empowering the youth.
Event management and venue officials, including Ferroz Manager Ms Ewoo Amonica, were ecstatic that the Honoroble Minister came in person underlining the value that Dr Jane places on the youth and the creative sector, noting that most other dignitaries send representatives usually delegate and never turn up!
During the event, the Minister also extended financial support to the organizers and venue management in recognition of their efforts to promote local talent and create platforms for the creative industry.
The event management and artists were extremely appreciative that the Honorable Minister as a believer in potential of Lango had sacrificed time from her busy schedule to come and support the Lango Music Awards!
